Bulk Storage

Our Bulk Storage range includes robust steel storage units designed for 205 litre drums and 1000 litre IBCs, manufactured for strength and long service life. Options include Multi Purpose Storage Units (E‑MPSU1 / E‑MPSU2) constructed from 2mm mild steel over 100 x 50 x 3mm RHS, with compartmentalised sumps for segregation of potential spillages. E‑MPSU1 offers two‑level storage for 16 x 205 litre drums or 4 x IBCs in one end (on support beam bearers) plus a walk‑in storage area with shelving and two‑point locking; the drum/IBC section includes padlockable sliding doors. E‑MPSU2 provides two‑level storage for 32 x 205 litre drums or 8 x IBCs on each end, with a secure walk‑in storage area and shelving in the middle; both ends have padlockable sliding doors, and galvanised grid shelving can be supplied as an optional extra.

For smaller packages and petroleum mixtures, our External Petroleum Stores provide a practical, compliant option for 25 litre drums and small containers, manufactured from 2mm mild steel with perforated storage levels, hinged or sliding door options (depending on size), easy movement by pallet truck or fork‑lift, and a corrosion‑resistant painted finish (other colours available).

For higher-capacity drum/IBC storage, Safety Unlimited offers Dual Purpose Storage Units and Dual Purpose Pushback Units. These are welded for added strength and constructed from 2mm profiled mild steel sheet over 100 x 50 x 3mm RHS, with a fully welded leakproof sump over the entire base area to a depth of 220mm. Standard features include high and low level vents, padlockable sliding doors, and upper/lower storage levels on support beam bearers. Pushback units add a space‑saving pushback system allowing you to stack pallets/IBCs two‑deep on one shelf. These units are designed to help meet requirements of the Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) (England) Regulations 2001, the Water Environment (Oil Storage) (Scotland) Regulations 2001, EA Guidance Note PPG26, and HSE guidance HSG51 (where applicable), alongside current health, safety and environmental regulations.

For highly flammable, low flashpoint and temperature‑sensitive liquids, our Relocatable Safety Store range is purpose‑designed with plastic coated sheet steel exterior panels, 75mm Rockwool Firebatt insulation to walls/doors/roof, a fully welded base acting as a leakproof sump, high and low flame arrested ventilation, galvanised grid flooring and a secure Yale lock with internal override. Optional extras include Zone 1 lighting, heating, extraction systems, sprinkler systems, fire detection and temperature control. The range carries a one hour fire rating tested and approved by the Warrington Fire Research Centre to BS476: Part 22.

Many bulk storage units can be painted to suit (standard colours available), and a bespoke service is available to tailor dimensions, layouts and options to your exact specification.
